Africa is short millions of healthcare workers today – doctors, nurses and other trained medical professionals are in dire need. For most basic care isn’t even an option while millions also await critical surgeries. New Hope is dedicated to the treatment and care of the top 10 causes of death in Ghana and West Africa including:
- Malaria
- Stroke
- Lower respiratory infections
- Neonatal disorders
- Ischemic heart disease
- HIV/AIDS
- Tuberculosis
- Diarrheal diseases
- Diabetes
- Cirrhosis and other chronic liver diseases
Additionally, Ghana and its surrounding countries in West Africa continue to have some of the highest levels of preventable causes of maternal deaths in the world. Additionally, recent reports show that 1 in 4 children will not reach age 15 and 1 in 10 dies before the age of 5. New Hope has a special focus in the care of women and children of all ages.
